Q: What kind of services do you provide?

A: MH Nursing Service provides total patient care including bath care, oral care, skin care, meal plans and preparation, running errands, picking up medication, and many companionship services. For a complete list, please see our services.

Q: Do you provide services in assisted living, hospitals, and nursing homes?

A: Yes, people may require additional assistance when residing in a facility, and having a private caregiver can provide a better quality of living for the patient.

Q: Is MH Nursing licensed through the state of North Carolina? Are the staff bonded and insured?

A: MH Nursing Service is licensed by the State of North Carolina and annually reviewed by the North Carolina Health Services Regulations Department. Each employee is bonded and insured by MH Nursing Service.

Q: What are the normal hours of operation and availability?

A: MH Nursing Service is on call 365 days per year, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Health care givers are available any time day or night, week or weekend, and hours are tailored around the needs of the patient.

Q: How soon can a health care giver be available?

A: MH Nursing Service prefers 24-hour notice to have a health care giver available for your family member. However, we know that emergencies arise and immediate attention is needed on occasion. We can be on site within two-three hours of notice.

Q: What happens when the regular health care giver cannot make a scheduled time?

A: MH nursing Services provides a back-up caregiver who has met and is familiar with the needs of the individual. Pre-arranged schedules can be changes, as we realize that the needs of the patient may change. A two-hour notice is required.

Q: Are there any sign-up fees or contracts when committing to use MH Services?

A: There are no sign-up fees, deposits or initial assessment fees. There is an annual contract, which could be cancelled for any reason within a 24-hour written notice. This contract serves as an agreement between both parties stating the provided health care services by MH Nursing and ensures an annual guaranteed rate.

Q: What type of payment is accepted and what is the billing cycle?

A: There is one rate for all shifts, day or night, weekday or weekend. MH Nursing Service accepts cash and check payments and works through many insurance agencies. Itemized bills are mailed at the beginning of each month.
